Defending Your Faith class, Sunday, February 3rd, after the late service, from approximately 1:15 – 2:15 pm. in the Fellowship Hall – Join us as we enjoy lunch together and discuss ways to better defend our faith in today’s complicated world. This week we’ll discuss: 1) How to share our faith and God’s word with friends who are scared of God, and 2) How teenagers can best share their faith in a diverse school environment filled with diverse friends and beliefs. Everyone is welcome!

LCOOS Trip to the Bible Museum in Washington, DC_- Saturday February 9th 2019 – 9:00am – 4:00pm We will meet at the church parking lot and depart promptly at 9:00 am. The tour is from 10:00am – 4:00pm. We will return to church at 5:00 pm. The group prices are (10 or more) $12 adult, $7 youth, 5 and under are free. Parking at the museum is $20 per vehicle, we can car pool. Without the group rate cost will be $25 adult, $20 senior and $12 child. We have considered contracting a bus company to take us and bring us back. Total would cost apx. $30 per person A signup sheet is in the Narthex. Please check how many tickets you want and yes or no to the bus.
Book Of Concord Bible Study – Smalcald Articles – Begins Saturday Feb 2nd and then on Feb 16th. After that in March we will go back to the normal schedule of the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, in the Bible Study Room across from Pastor’s office, from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm .In case you didn’t know; In the Smalcald Articles, Luther summarized what he regarded to be the most important teaching in Christianity. Come join us as we study “The Smalcald Articles.”
Gary Pomrenke’s Ordination – Sunday January 27th – 4:00 pm – at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 37707 New Market Turner Road, Mechanicsville Maryland 20659. Everyone is invited to attend as Pastor Gary Pomrenke accepts his calling and is ordained into the LCMS Ministry.
FUGE – July 22nd – 27th – Eastern University, Philadelphia, PA. This years theme is “Restored” We have 30 slots reserved. PARENTS: Your child MUST be signed up by Wednesday January 30th in order to reserve a space! After that we will have to relinquish any unclaimed spots and they will not be able to attend. Please see the sign up sheet is in the Church Narthex.
The National March For Life in Washington D.C. – This Friday January 18, 2019 – We will be attending the March for Life as we show our support for the “Sanctity of Life”. We will be leaving the church at 7:30am. If you are interested in attending there are detailed flyers in the January Newsletter and also in the Church Narthex. We will also put a schedule of the events and a map in the Sunday January 6th Bulletin. LCOOS will start the March for Life by joining out LCMS brothers and sisters for a Devine Service on Friday January 18th, 9:00 am at The Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel located at 801 N. Glebe Road Arlington, VA 22203. After that we will be traveling by metro to the march. LCMS has asked for the number of people from our church who will be attending The Devine Service so there is a signup sheet in the Narthex if you plan to attend and March with us for Life. If you are unable to join us in the March for Life please come and pray with us at the Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel.
