Thursday Notes 10/8/26

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY:  TONIGHT THURSDAY, October 8th at 6:00 pm.  All men are invited to join us in the Bibles Study Room across from Pastor’s office as we read and study God’s Word. No prerequisites – Just show up and bring your Bible or use one of ours.

BIBLE STUDY:  SATURDAY, October 10th and October 24th at 1:30 pm in the Bible Study Room across from Pastor’s office or via Zoom.  Join us as we continue to read “Pilgrims Progress” by John Bunyan. 

LWML MEETING:  MONDAY, October 12th at 7:00 pm via Zoom. All ladies are invited to attend.  Watch for the Zoom link in your email.

LADIES PRAYER BREAKFAST:  SATURDAY, October 17th at 9:00 am.  All ladies are welcome to join us for a morning of worship, fellowship, and a delicious breakfast.

YEARLY LCOOS PICNIC:  RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY, October 17th at 2:00 pm at Gilbert Run Park outside of La Plata on Route 6.  We have reserved the Dockside Pavillion (the same one as last year).  It is down by the snack bar and boat rental. Everyone is invited to join us for an afternoon of fellowship and fun. LCOOS will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, water, and paper products . Please bring a dish to share and since seating is limited, you may want to bring a chair. It’s always a great time when our LCOOS Family gets together.  Any questions, please speak with Chrissy King.

SECOND SATURDAY SOCIAL:  SATURDAY, October 10th – ”FALL FIESTA” – 3:00pm – 8:00 pm at the home of Aaron & Ashley Huie. food (taco bar) and beverage is provided. But if anyone would like to bring a snack or appetizer that is welcome (chips, veggies, fruit, cheese tray, etc.)  There is an invitation with an RSVP Link for this event online at  https://evite.me/4BWbA5xWSV The link was sent in Thursday’s notes.  If you are unable to access it, please speak with Aaron Huie.

CHOIR PRACTICE:  STARTS ON TUESDAY, October 13th at 6:45 pm.  Do you find yourself singing in the shower or to your favorite band in the car? Are you new to the church and looking for a fun way to contribute your talents? Or were you once a member and now it’s time to get back in the fold? If so the first choir rehearsal for this season of advent is Tuesday, Oct 13th at 6:45 PM. If you have questions, please contact Sarah Ammons for more info. 

LWML & INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK SUNDAY:  SUNDAY, October 25th.  Please wear purple to support the Ladies of the LWML.  Then immediately the 11:00 am Worship Service we will celebrate the different cultures represented here at  Lutheran Church of Our Savior.   If you have any cultural dress attire, please wear it. In addition, if you are able to bring a dish specific to your heritage, we would love to try it.  Any questions please speak to Rosa Ammons.

HARVEST FESTIVAL: -SATURDAY, October 31st, 6:00 pm —8:00 pm (Time may be changed).   Kids are asked to wear a non-scary costume and join us for an exciting fun filled time.  We will have a clown, pony rides, games, prizes and food. We will need 8 people to decorate their cars for Trunk or Treat and people to run the games. Also, we will need candy….Lots of candy! Please remember all candy must be individually wrapped. BJ’s and Sam’s Club has some really good prices on candy.  If you are able to donate a bag or 2, please leave it in Pam’s office. Thank You! There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex.

NOTE:  Karen Malkin needs pantyhose (or similar stockings like knee highs) to make dryer balls (they can have holes in them).
